Beavers close part of Middle Goosefare Trail
The lower portion of the Middle Goosefare Trail, that which skirts the pond, is now underwater due to beaver activity at the pond's outlet. Yes, they've created a dam and this has pushed the water level up and over the trail.
You can see the pond if you park in the lower lot of Saco Inn and Suites and enter the trail from that point. You'll also be able to see the pond from the Lew Weston memorial bench, which overlooks the site.
